I began in New Jersey as a mural painter in adolescence on commercial sites and collaborating on international projects put together by the Visual Arts League. During these first major projects in high school I got to experience the joy of receiving exposure for my work. There was no turning back. By the time I had received my high school diploma I had shown twice at Lincoln Center, taken on seven mural-painting commissions, redesigned my schools mascot and had by its art dept. been invited to teach a workshop, and carried out a project for Streets 2K5.
In the fall of 2005 I began my studies at the Cooper Union and received my BFA there in the May of 2009. During my time there I’ve been able to acquire a great deal of technical know-how and experience making work in an array of techniques and programs. The Cooper Union has also opened me up to a world of critical theory. It was during this time that I began taking on assignments for New York Magazine, Launch Snowboards, Open World, and GOOD. |
